NANOTECHNOLOGY LABORATORY CUM MINI CIF

Nanotechnology is an emerging and multidisciplinary field with immense potential in agriculture, horticulture, food science, biotechnology, and allied sciences, offering innovative approaches for the development of advanced materials, improved agricultural inputs, enhanced post-harvest management, and sustainable technologies.

The Nanotechnology Laboratory-cum-Mini CIF (Central Instrumentation Facility) under the department of Post Harvest Technology at the College of Horticulture and Forestry Central Agricultural University, Pasighat, is a state-of-the-art research and analytical facility established to support advanced research, experimentation, characterization, and skill development in the areas of nanotechnology, biotechnology, agricultural sciences, horticultural sciences, food technology, and allied disciplines. The laboratory provides a comprehensive platform for students, researchers, scientists, faculty members, and other stakeholders to undertake high-quality scientific research and obtain precise and reliable analytical results.

The Nanotechnology Laboratory-cum-Mini CIF is equipped with a wide range of advanced instruments and laboratory facilities for synthesis, processing, characterization, and evaluation of nano-materials, formulations, biological samples, and agricultural products. The major facilities include Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR), UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Microplate Reader (ELISA), Constant Climate Chamber, Laser Particle Size Analyzer, Probe Sonicator, Bomb Calorimeter and other supporting laboratory equipment required for advanced research and analytical studies.

The laboratory provides access to sophisticated analytical and characterization facilities to students, researchers, faculty members, project personnel, and other stakeholders for undertaking quality research and obtaining reliable analytical results. The facility also supports dissertation and project work, hands-on training, workshops, demonstrations, and skill-development programmes to provide practical exposure to modern nanotechnology and advanced analytical techniques.
